@sirstuck Wow, that brings back memories of me getting our truck stuck in the snow last winter. Trying so hard to get going but pulling forward only to slide back. It was so cold out. These guys were pushing me, telling me to go go go. But i was so stuck. My boot pushing hard on and off the gas. I really needed better tires that was a big part of the problem. I was secretly enjoying being the center of attention and enjoy those feelings as I pushed on the gas and the tires spun. Talking to the truck, come on come on. The rear tires spinning but not getting much traction. The truck rocking back in forth.

I get so excited just listening to that sound of spinning tires. Keep up the good work!

Well, that didn’t go as planned. The first time I took it out to the other gravel pit the computer in the damn thing blew, had to get it towed back into town. Now that it’s 40 below, there probably isn’t gonna be a lot of action until it warms up a bit. Getting stuck in and having to walk 20 miles back in -45C…. That’s a big nope.

@gravey1of2 explaining to do to where you work? Or one of those things?

@sd78qsk They knew it wasn’t exactly sound, apparently, and just didn’t tell me. So it’s just one of those things. I told them that the electrical system was glitching out well before the computer shit the bed so I think they were prepared for something to actually happen.

@gravey1of2 Another coded vid, sound only.

@gravey1of2 Let's think about this. Work gives you a 2WD truck that is not in the best of conditions. It does have KO2s, but I'm betting (hoping!) they are a bit worn. Let me guess... No G80 locking rear axle or the locker is (or has) taken a shit. Bud... They want you to get STUCK! And... WE WANT YOU TO GET STUCK!!!

@hardstuck I’ll add the missing detail here and then pass it back to you to think about. Here in the arctic, we’re at temperatures below -45 degrees celsius and have been for a week. That’s seasonal for this place through December, January and February. It is deadly cold right now and whether the company ride is a piece of shit or not, I’m the guy missing a big toe on my left foot, have an artificial lens in the right eye, and a pound and a half of steel plates and screws fusing my left elbow together.
I appreciate that everyone likes what I do, and that content is in demand. It feels good to be wanted. You know what doesn’t feel good? Freezing to death in the pursuit of entertaining strangers. As the the company truck won’t even start with a blown computer, that leaves me with only my own truck to work with and if I blow that up, then I’m out of a vehicle for the remainder of my rotation here and have no way to get home when I’m finally done my 14 weeks. I’ve been home with my partner for a grand total of 26 days since July, and right now, making sure nothing stops me from getting home in 5 weeks is my priority. Everything else is unimportant.

@gravey1of2 completely understand. Have to look after yourself first as we know that no one else will.
