Agree, if goin out spinnin, tough boots is the only footwear he use. Sneakers, socks and bare feet, big turn off.

I find my preferences vary with the driver. I used not to care for either big boots or barefoot, but there are exceptions!

@booted-driver I first saw Land Rovers in TV shows about anthropologists or zoologists in Africa and somehow didn't stop to think that a particular company made them or anyone else would drive them. They definitely have possibilities

Try 'googling' <Land Rovers Off Road> or some such. It is said that 75% of the production since 1948 is still around. It's the ubiquitous farm vehicle and has a huge following with off-road enthusiasts with clubs all over the UK and elsewhere. The early ones were very basic, with optional four-wheel-drive, but they've got more and more sophisticated until they're almost unrecogisable. They can be seen being used by all manner of organisations working off-road, and adapted for all sorts of purposes, including carrying the coffin of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. Rekon that one hasn't been in any mud. The latest manifestation of the Defender is a vastly expensive box of computers. There's still a need for 'four (driving) wheels and a board' like the first ones. The earliest ones put you right down there next to the back wheels where you were in close contact with and sight of the action, the back wheel spinning just by you when you got bogged down. Almost as sexy as the original Willis Jeep. Austin tried to make one, the Champ, but it didn't last long.
