Stuck stories
  • so recently passed my test. the weather has been very wet here in UK recently so everything lined up perfectly.

Found a very muddy gateway. loads of room to park and a slight incline to the road. I got quite deep in it spinning. Genuinely struggling.

I could of got very stuck there if it wasn't for the fact I could roll back and then have a slight run up. which is how I got out. Chickened because I was on my own with no signal in that area

  • So nice to see REAL Pedals with that elusive third to the Left most of we Yanks know nothing about! You guys are so lucky over there to be able to get manual gearboxes... they're 99% GONE here in The States!

  • @StuckFuck

Most new cars in the U.K. are auto now too and with all the electric cars coming in soon Manual will be a thing of the past

  • Congratulations on your first stuck experience! I wish many more to come!

  • @stuckadam
It looks pretty good for a start and there will definitely be more awesome sessions to come. Have lots of fun

  • First off. Congrats on passing your test. Can now go out and spin those tyres good. Yeah, manual cars are great for spinning and getting stuck. But autos are also ok. Many cars in the states are fairly powerful, and I understand that engines are being manufactured in smaller capacities now, but I love the sound of a V8. Let's enjoy them while we can.
In Europe, smaller engines are now becoming the norm also. But some have good power outputs. Pity that traction control is becoming more standardized on newer cars.

  • An advantage of an automatic transmission is that you are much less likely to stall the engine while fooling around. It also gives you the freedom to assume different positions because you only need one foot to press the accelerator.

@Florian Thanks, Man! Glad you enjoyed my story. Bone-Dawg was a fun truck. I only owned the truck for about a year and then gave it to a boy that I watched grow up out of a bad situation into an honorable young man. Bone-Dawg is a 2006 Chevy Colorado 2WD work truck with a 5-speed manual tranny that the first owner built into a Desert PreRunner. It had a race-ready FOX off-road suspension with 4" lift, 32" all-terrains on 15x8 Mongoose rims, tuned exhaust and air intake (NOPE! It DIDN'T sound like a souped-up riding lawn mower!) and prerunner tube style front and rear bumpers. Color was Silver Birch Metallic; just a fancy name for Sand Grey! Oh, yeah... And it was a peg-leg! (Open rear differential) BONE-DAWG LOVED TO GET STUCK!!! The wide tires are great for sand, loose dirt and bombing through the desert. Not so much in snow, ice or slick, greasy mud. Guess where I had the most FUN in BONE-DAWG!?!?!
