@Ahhorny When I first saw this years ago, for quite some time this was one of the memorable scenes

I fantasized about. Me standing in the bushes and watching the struggle fold out, Michael flooring the gas pedal and trying to move the car forward of backward, while KITT being a "guy in distress", his engine slowly becoming running rougher and rougher, as water gets into more and more places.
At the end, KITT stalls, and Michael tries frantically to start it up, but only getting a sick and slow cranking sound, while bubbles coming out from the exhaust pipe, which is already in the water.

Recall the first episode of the CBS sitcom Bagdad Cafe, a ratings ho hum, began with Jean Stapleton and her husband character with their full size car stuck in sand. He pushed, she drive, back tires spun, car got unstuck but she unintentionally ran over him. He wasn't hurt but he talked down at her. She says " you don't have to talk to me like that," gets her suitcase and walks off.

Some enemies tossed KITT into some water, or some kinda liquid, and he cried for help as he sank and turned off
