Renting cars for Stucks?
-
Hi stuck friends, has anyone ever rented vehicles to use for getting themselves stuck? I’d rather not use my own and would prefer to rent something. It snows here so at least starting with snow/ice stucks. Experiences with renting? Never rented a car before… wondering how it’d go or work. Thank you!

Some rental companies forbid off road driving of their vehicles. They quit renting 4x4 trucks years ago. Some places there are rental jeeps and suvs but often only for organized trips.
Now and then someone rents a truck or van from a company like U Haul, drives it off road, gets stuck or does some damage and the rental place takes legal action. There was a YouTube video of getting a stuck U Haul pickup out of an off road area. Including a deputy getting his sheriff's office 4x4 pickup stuck trying to get into the area, and the winch on the truck didn't work. -
Buy a 40-year-old car with rear-wheel drive. They get stuck easily and are stronger than new ones. and if it breaks, you invested little money.
