I’m remembering a favorite trip: I drove my truck to a location near the river that I had wanted to explore. I drove my truck to my chosen spot, parked and sat, in the sun but in an area of dense grass that was covering up very deep, black river mud, a remote section of public fields where I’d seen lots of guys get stuck in the past. I think about my boots and how much more muddy I’m gunna get them later while I change the flat tire that’s stuck in the mud. Spinning a blown tire stuck in the mud is a blast. The whole drivers side is vibrating. I’m f——— stuck in the mud! I pledge that I’m gunna get my boots stuck in the mud - deep- from now on, especially when I have my big black rubber hip boots on.
